New Blog Launch + GIVEAWAY!

Happy 2013!  When I think the new year, I think fresh beginnings and that is exactly where I am taking this fashion blog... to a completely re-designed layout!  I've been in the works with Popcat Designs to revamp my blog for ages and it's finally happening :) All my posts and information is ported to fashiontogo.ca.  From this point on, I will be blogging through that site so please follow me!  As a thank you and celebratory gesture, I am giving away two of my favorite pieces of jewelry from Allsaints (Brand new): Necklace and Bracelet!  See below for details on how to enter!

Boxing Day not-shopping, food and fashion

In about 24hrs or so I will be hopping on the bus to... NEW YORK!  Too excited for words right now. It's going to be 4 days of non stop shopping, sight seeing, eating, and of course... partying.  Will be sure to capture every moment and share it with you guys :) Anyways, while I'm still in Toronto, here's the boring things I've been up to recently.

As much as I love the layered look, I am always the throw on a single top and comfy bottoms type of girl.  Here I'm wearing a Zara blouse and Club Monaco leggings

My eating-out-everyday streak has not been broken yet.  Here's another lunch outing with the fam for dim sum at Regal Chinese Restaurant, formerly known as Red Ruby (紅寶石).  I was still waiting for my Thousand Layer Cake (千層糕) I get that every time... so good

Salads keep me from getting obese from all these holiday festivities.  I don't remember the last time I ate brussels sprouts and I certainly did not eat it raw.  So here's me venturing outside my foodie comfort zone with this Shreddded Brussel Sprouts salad tossed with cherry tomatoes, avocado, walnuts and dressed with a simple mustard vinaigrette.  Adapted from Use Real Butter's recipe.  It's really good and might actually convert some of you into brussels sprouts lovers

 Despite what I said about avoiding the Boxing Day madness, I fell right into the middle of it...literally

Let me explain... I went to watch a movie at a mall and naively decided that getting lapped up by the swarms of rabid shoppers was worth the trip to grab my Starbucks.  I don't know what to say anymore

 It literally took all my will power not to venture into stores adorned with 50% off signs.  It will be worth it to splurge in New York I kept telling myself.  In the end I did buy something though, but not for me ;)

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

To my dear readers, I hope you are all having a wonderful Christmas day with friends and family and loved ones.  It's crazy how close we are to a new year... fresh and exciting things are in store and I cannot wait to share with you :) Today I went for dinner with my family and I am relieved to say I have finally given out most of the presents that have been sitting impatiently in the corner of my desk...  Just one last left ;)

The Final Week: Tim Hortons, last minute gift ideas, food reviews and more!

My last week at American Express was filled with laughter, gifts, bonding and loads of food.  I don't think I've ever eaten out this many times in a row before!  I also made more trips to Tim Hortons than I have in the past few years.  I bought my co-workers their morning caffeine and as I walked into the office I see a familiar face coming towards me holding the same cups...  we bought each other coffee!  What a way to start the morning... double fisting tea and coffee (haha!).  

My last lunch with my lovely team at The Pickle Barrel.  I had the Cali Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich stuffed with roasted peppers, cilantro, and spicy mayo.  Yum!

Look what I got from M! :) So adorably wrapped, I need me some of those Xmas take out boxes!

 What do I find inside the take out box?  Home made candy cane fudge bars!  I already took a few bites in case you didn't notice...so good!  M was even kind enough to note there may contain traces of nuts (haha)

 Ferroro Rocher stuffed Xmas mugs for my friends :) Wrap them up in tissue paper and secure with a festive ribbon and you've got yourself a lovely gift.

 Lunch with my extended team at Canadian Thai.  I had the yellow curry and it was alright...nothing amazing.  Despite the quick service and friendly staff, the quality of the food was just not up to par.  In fact, this dish had my stomach churning a few hours later.  Not a good sign.

Anyways, hope you are enjoying the holidays with friends and family :) Christmas is fast approaching!

Louis Vuitton Zippy Wallet

About a week ago, I gave you guys a teaser of a Louis Vuitton purchase I got for my Christmas/Birthday present.  The reveal is finally here, sorry for the wait!  I bought the Zippy Wallet in Damier Ebene :) I've wanted a LV wallet for the longest time and I think this was a nice year to treat myself as I have officially completed my internship requirements for my business program!  Yay!

These pictures pretty much speak for themselves.  Sturdy craftsmanship, beautiful gold detailing and the perfect size for people who like to keep a lot of stuff in their wallet.  I didn't think I would need to utilize all the compartments, but I find it an excellent way to sort my receipts, cheques, bills, rewards/gift cards and more!  Hope this review was helpful for those also interested in getting this wallet :) If you want to see a video review and unboxing, ashxl of Youtube has the best one.
